Travelscape A travel reservation website with a minimum of advertising (but of course they get advertising $ from the travel industry corporations whom they represent).
Festivals.comAccording to their page, they are
"the online gathering place
of the worldwide festival community." Includes a "festival search, news stories and feature
articles" They further invite you to submit festival photos, share festival experiences, etc. Perhaps a good place to locate activities of this sort or to register your own (for free).
Travel Resources from Freeality.com Web links to many travel sites. Lots of advertising. There are links to a currency converter and an interactive currency table plus links to translation dictionaries and the Amtrak site.
New York City Travel and Resources from Freeality.com Similar to the site above but zeroed in on the Big Apple. Lots of ads.
Accutraffic.com Weather features include "interstate weather, travel weather maps, 43,000 city forecasts, and local & state radars." Traffic features include "real-time conditions, construction notices, road closures, and highway cameras" -- according to their info. The main page link to "weather" did not work when we looked but the Texas traffic page did include a weather link. If traveling by auto you may find a "heads-up" on your route. We saw no advertising.
FAA.gov An excellent site for air travelers, includes airline delay info, safety tips, policy, and feedback for those of you who have a gripe. Also has a real-time airport status link.
