I.  History

    USFLAG.ORG  A page which includes the history of, and writings about, the Flag of the United States of America.

    The Flag of the United States of America  Provided by the "Sons of the American Revolution," this page gives a chronology of the U. S. Flag with dates when each state's star was added.  Several links to flag information are included.


II. Etiquette

   U. S. Code of Statutes: Title 4, Chapter 1 - "The Flag."  This is the primary code relating to the U. S. Flag.

   U. S. Code of Statutes: Title 36, Subtitle 1, Part A, Chapter 3, Section 301 - "National Anthem" also contains regulations relating to the U.S. Flag.

   Flag rules & regulations.  Demonstrates the correct way to fold a United States Flag, shows how to display the Flag, gives Flag sizes, answers common questions about the Flag, and gives a long list of laws and regulations pertaining to the Flag.

   Flag etiquette & standards of respect  gives similar information to the page above, beginning with the Flag Code and including the proper way to salute the Flag.

The Texas Flag

1.  Texas State Law  Read the statutes of Texas as they relate to the State Flag.

2.  About Texas  A page from the Texas State Library web site, this page includes a wealth of information about Texas (including a section on "Doing a Report on Texas").  One of the sections is "Flags and Symbols" which includes the Texas flag's official description, code, and pledge.

3.  The Six Flags of Texas  Provided by Lone Star Net, this page is introduced with the following: "Texas often is called the Lone Star State because of its state flag with a single star. This was also the flag of the Republic of Texas. The following information about historic Texas flags, the current flag, decommissioning the Texas Flag and other Texas symbols may be supplemented by information available from the Texas State Library, Austin."
